Corsica – Sarah Mae Punt, 93, went to her heavenly home Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Good Samaritan Center - Corsica.  Funeral service will be Saturday, April 19 at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Aurora Reformed Church in Aurora Center.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Sarah was born May 11, 1931 to Harry and Jennie (Tolsma) Van Genderen on the family farm near Stickney, SD. She attended a country school near the farm through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Adames Punt on January 20, 1954 at her parent's home near Stickney.  In 1960, they purchased the farm where they continued to live until failing health forced them to move into an apartment in Armour, SD. Sarah worked at the Methodist Hospital in Mitchell, SD before becoming a farm wife and homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Aurora Reformed Church where she was baptized, confirmed, taught Sunday school and catechism, and attended Ladies Aid. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and fishing.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children: LeRoy Punt of Mitchell, SD, Leslie Punt of Mitchell, Sally (Terry) Scott of Stickney, and LeAlan (Brenda) Punt of Armour; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Delmar Van Genderen, Corsica, SD, Robert Van Genderen of Stickney, Harlan (Judy) Van Genderen of Platte, SD, and Marvin (Delores) Van Genderen of Plankinton, SD; 2 sisters: Mary (Alvin) Vander Werff of Lakewood, CO and Norma (Roger) Feenstra of Corsica; and 3 sisters-in-law: Shirley Tolsma of Mitchell, SD,  Philomena Punt of Sioux Falls, SD, and Margie Van Genderen of Stickney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adames; a daughter-in-law, Valerie Punt; in-laws: Peter and Gertrude Punt; brother, Lloyd Van Genderen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loretta Van Genderen, Harriet (Ernest) Kuyper, Vernon (Phyllis) Punt, Richard Punt, Dwaine (Gertrude) Punt, Gershom (Willametta) Punt, and Donna (Don) Hattendorf and Gerben Tolsma.
