Corsica – Douglas Gene Buchholz, 62, went to his heavenly home Monday, November 17, 2025 at his home near Corsica. There will be a visitation Friday, November 21, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. 

Douglas Gene Buchholz was born June 29, 1963 to Michael and Shirley (Hein) Buchholz in DeSmet, SD.  He attended and graduated from Central High School in Rapid City, SD, in 1981. On September 11, 1996, Doug married the love of his life, Charity Donegan, in Rapid City, SD. Doug worked at Ethan Coop in Ethan, SD for 20 years where he was a fork lift operator and worked in construction. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bonfires with family, fishing, listening to Rock N’ Roll music, watching his favorite football team the Steelers, and watching the History and Cooking channels. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Doug will be remembered as a man of many talents, a dedicated collector, a kind soul, and a hard working man who took pride in everything he did. 

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Charity of Corsica, SD; his mother, Shirley Hein of Rapid City, SD; six children: Rhianna (Travis) Hirchert of Rapid City, SD; Damian (Jess) Buchholz of Corsica, SD; Destiny (Jean) Buchholz of Davenport, FL; Eric (Melissa) Engelien of Rapid City, SD; Nicole (Kelvin) Zuniga of Mitchell, SD; and Payton (Molly) Buchholz of Parkston, SD; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way; and two siblings: Val Boal of Rapid City, SD and Sheila Buchholz of Sioux Falls, SD

He was preceded in death by his father Michael.
