Parkston – Corinne Ilene Widmer, 95, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Avera Bormann Manor.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 7 at 10:30 am at Parkston Congregational Church in Parkston.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6 from 5 to 7 pm at Parkston Congregational Church in Parkston.

Corinne was born August 3, 1930 to Erhardt and Edna (Bender) Koerner on a farm north of Freeman, SD.  She attended country school and then graduated from Freeman High School.  She moved to Mitchell, SD where she attended Mitchell Business College for six months.  After graduation, she worked for the next 5 years at the ASC office in Parkston, SD.  She dated LeRoy Widmer for two years and they were united in marriage on December 5, 1954 near Menno, SD.  The couple lived on a farm near Parkston where, in addition to farming, they raised steers, hogs, chickens, geese and ducks and canned a lot of produce from her garden, until retiring and moving into town in 1992.  The couple enjoyed 55 happy years together and enjoyed bowling in the couple's league and attended many bowling tournaments in the state.  Corinne was a member of Parkston Congregational Church and Ladies Aide, enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing pinochle and Mexican Train.  She also played the accordion and organ.

Grateful for having shared her life are her nieces and nephews: Heide (Ron) Maize, Nancy (Eric) Anderson, Sonia (Peter) Niebergall, Terry (Cheryl) Winter, Debbie (Jay) Roberts and Tracie (Mike) Elbracht; a nephew-in-law, Myron Leibert; and cousins, Darlene Bauer, Jeanette Kaus, Yvonne Mackey, and Dennis Koerner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; a sister, Betty (LeRoy) Stern; and a niece, Dana Leibert.
