Obituary of Ronald George Buehner

   Ronald George Buehner, 85, died at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Clayton with burial following in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Clayton. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4 - 7 PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Clayton.

   Ronald George Buehner was born on February 25, 1933 to Carl and Rebecca (Hogrefe) Buehner in Clayton, SD. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Clayton. Ron graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in March of 1953, serving until his honorable discharge in February of 1957. He returned home to operate his farm, where he dairy farmed for the next 30 years. He was united in marriage to Jean Grajkowske on December 11, 1955 in Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston. Ron was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Clayton, and more recently of Faith Lutheran Church in Parkston. He enjoyed fishing, shooting trap, hunting, woodworking, and restored a 1935 International Truck. He died on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston at the age of 85.

   He is survived by his wife, Jean of Emery, SD, 5 children, Pamela (Duane) Kruse of Pipestone, MN, Sharon (Steve) Schwan of Stratford, SD, Glen (Tina) Buehner of White, SD, Lynn (Ken) Wintersteen of Olivet, SD, and Beth (Terry) Berndt of Avon, SD, grandchildren, Joe (Jodi) Schwan, Austin Schwan, Jackie (John) Bender, Lexie (Dallas) Fisher, Spencer (fiancee, Ellen Voigt) Kruse, Andrew (Jessica) Buehner, Kim (Mitch) Maher, Evan Wintersteen, Ellie Wintersteen, Landon Berndt, Riley Berndt, and Callie Berndt, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Kenneth (Lois) Buehner, and half sister, Carol (Stan) Hieb.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Anne Buehner, son-in-law, Lyle Vogt, grandson, Jordan Berndt, brothers, Carl R., Dennis, Robert, and 2 in infancy, and sister, Lucille Franklin.
