Parkston – Irene E. Tiede, 86, entered into the presence of her Lord on Friday, July 13 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 19 at 10:30 am at Parkston Congregational Church, formerly Salem United Church of Christ, in Parkston. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18 from 5 to 7 pm at Parkston Congregational Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Irene was born July 31, 1931 to Otto and Bertha (Koth) Mogck in Parkston, SD. She attended Parkston High School and graduated in 1949. She went to Yankton College in Yankton, SD and graduated with a teaching certificate. After completing her education, she taught in Corsica, SD for a year. She was united in marriage to Vernon Tiede on October 15, 1950 in Parkston. Together they lived and farmed near Parkston. Irene was a member of the Parkston Congregational Church, formerly Salem United Church of Christ, in Parkston, Salem UCC Friendship Aid and was a church organist for many years. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning, gardening, traveling, dancing, bowling and was an excellent seamstress.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children: Kathryn (Richard) Gerry of Bemidji, MN; Mark (Gail) Tiede of Parkston; Susan (Gary) Clark of Azle, TX; and Patricia (Paul) Huberty of Coleman, WI; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; and 2 sisters, Viola Carlson and Ruth Johnson.
