Obituary of Delores Petersen

Delores Arlene Petersen was born July 19, 1931 to Edward and Marie (Larsen) Petersen, grew up on a farm south of Minden, Nebraska.  She graduated from Minden High School and later received her diploma from West Nebraska School of Nursing in Scottsbluff, NE on August 29, 1954.   She devoted her whole life as a nurse, caring for her parents and committed her life to caring for people.  Delores was employed by UCC in Scottsdale, AZ for many years moving back to Nebraska in 1985 and went to work as a nurse for the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island Nebraska until her retirement in 1995.  She moved to Gibbon, Nebraska to live with her sister Pearl Mae Sizer. She enjoyed her retirement years with her sister as they both attended Bible studies, garage sales, & shopping. She loved listen to her niece & three nephews play Gospel music & to spend time with their families.  Delores moved to South Carolina where she lived at Carolina Gardens assisted living in York, SC to be near her 3 nephews.  She recently moved to Complete Care of Charlotte, NC.  Delores went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the age of 87.  

Delores is survived by her nephews, Edward (Linda) Sizer, Larry (LeeAnna) Sizer, Daniel (Margaret) Sizer of Fort Mill, SC, and one niece Ann Marie (Randy) Vesely of Lake Andes, SD and many great nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Ed. M. Petersen and Marie (Larsen) Petersen. Her brother-in-law Allen F. Sizer, and her sister Pearl Mae Sizer, and one great-nephew Joshua Sizer.

A celebration of her life will be at 3PM, Sunday, July 29th, 2018 at The Shield. 2499 Firetower Rd. Rock Hill, SC. The service will be streamed LIVE:  www.theshieldonline.net

There will be a grave side Service at Fredricksburg Cemetery near Minden on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:30 AM.
