Parkston – Robert Fritz Wegehaupt, 97, went to his heavenly home Thursday, February 16, 2017 surrounded by loved ones at his home in Parkston. Funeral service will be Monday, February 20 at 11:00 am at Immanual Lutheran Church, rural Dimock. Visitation will be Sunday, February 19 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:00 pm prayer service at Immanual Lutheran Church, rural Dimock. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Robert was born August 12, 1919 to Fritz and Ottilia (Scheetz) Wegehaupt in Douglas County, SD. He attended country school near the home place and graduated from Delmont High School. He worked at Lawton Brothers Dairy in Dixon, IL and then moved to Minneapolis, MN where he worked at Land O'Lakes. He returned to Dimock, SD and married Anita on January 27th 1946. They farmed West of Dimock until 1995 and moved to Parkston, SD. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on the Dimock Elevator Board and the Washington Township Board. He enjoyed bowling, dartball and playing pinochle with family and friends.. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 71 years, Anita of Parkston; 3 daughters: Gloria Storm of Sioux Falls, SD, Eunice Burgraff of Sioux Falls, and Mary (Paul) Ronken of Sioux Falls; 5 sons: Robert, Jr. (Flaviana) Wegehaupt of Placentia, CA, Steven (Audrey) Wegehaupt of Omaha, NE, Morris (Lori) Wegehaupt of Dimock, Daniel (Lori) Wegehaupt of Sioux Falls, and Thomas (Karlene) Wegehaupt of Dimock, 4 sisters: Helen Geidel of Parkston, Margaret (Herbert) Geidel of Parkston, Adeline Storm of Corsica SD, and Rose Wegehaupt of Mitchell, SD; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Arthur Wegehaupt, George Wegehaupt, and Melvin Wegehaupt; an infant sister, Lucille Wegehaupt; 2 brothers-in-law: Elmer Geidel, and Lawrence Storm, and a sister-in-law Ruth Wegehaupt.
