Parkston – Eva Lingemann, 97, went to her heavenly home Thursday, August 30 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, September 4 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.  Visitation will be Monday, September 3 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pakston.

Eva was born May 13, 1921 to Harry and Edna (Harvey) Adams in Worthen Township in Hanson County, SD. She attended Worthen #4 country school and Ethan High School in Ethan, SD, graduating in 1939. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Mitchell, SD in 1942. During World War II, she worked as a Red Cross Nurse and at St. Joseph School of Nursing. After the war, she worked for Dr. John McGreevy in Sioux Falls, SD. She was united in marriage to Leo W. Lingemann on December 28, 1948 in Ethan. While couple made their home in Ethan, Eva returned to working at St. Joseph's as well as working Brady Memorial Nursing Home and was director of nursing at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Parkston, SD. After retiring from nursing, she worked at the Senior Citizen's Center in Parkston. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was an eucharistic minister and member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer for Avera Queen of Peace Hospice in Mitchell and Parkston.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 5 sons: William (Carol) Lingemann of Ethan; Kenneth (Janet) Lingemann of Parkston; Richard (Edie) Lingemann of Ottawa, IL; Lyle (Dawn) Lingemann of Ethan and Kevin (Esther) Lingemann of Cherokee, OK; 17 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Deloris Delzer of Mitchell and Vera Faye Greenwood of Canton, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leo on April 19, 1992.
