Tripp – Rita C. Hoff, 93, went to her heavenly home Monday, February 6 at the Good Samaritan Center in Tripp. Funeral mass will be Friday, February 10 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Rita C. Hoff was born March 2, 1923 in Parkston, SD to Joseph and Catherine (Fritza) Smith. After graduating from the 8th grade, she worked as a house cleaner for a few years.. She was united in marriage to William J. Hoff on May 4, 1948 in Parkston. Together, they farmed and raised their family. She later worked at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center in Tripp, SD. Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston and the Altar Society. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing cards and cross stitch but her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita went to her heavenly home Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center in Tripp at the age of 93. Grateful for having shared her life are her 6 children: Kenneth (Jane) Hoff of Pueblo, CO; Rosemary (Lynn) Brech of Sioux Falls, SD; Judith (Lennis) Mehlhaff of Tripp; Charles (Ramona) Hoff of Tripp; Susan (Allen) Fuchs of Wagner, SD; and Alan (Anita) Hoff of Tripp; a son-in-law, Denny Weber of Sioux Falls; 15 grandchildren: Ryan (Amy) Brech; Melody Brech; Anna (Bradley) Haynes; Michelle (fiancée Dan Rothenburhler) Weber; Timothy (Jane) Mehlhaff; Jeffrey (Rebecca) Mehlhaff; Tiffany Mehlhaff; Nicole (John) Knodel; William (Jill) Hoff; Daniel Hoff; Jennifer (Fredrick) Ruiz; Curtis (Sherri) Fuchs; Michael (special friend Kelsie Shaffer) Fuchs; Austin Hoff and Amber Hoff; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lenora (Pat) Boehmer of Parkston; a good friend, Edna Hoff of Tripp; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; a daughter, Janis Weber; 4 sisters and 6 brothers.
