Parkston – Evelyn Marie Lang, 98, went to her heavenly home Monday, September 17 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Memorial mass will be Monday, September 24 at 10:30 am with the rosary being prayed at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Evelyn was born September 19, 1919 to John C. and Hedwig (Baumgart) Hohn on the family farm near Dimock. She attended country school and St. Peter & Paul Parochial School. On November 25, 1940, she was married to Leonard J. Lang at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock. They farmed west of Parkston until moving into Parkston in 1971. Evelyn worked at the bowling alley, St. Benedict Hospital and Avera Bormann Manor until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and baking.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 2 sons: Myron (Marge) Lang of Platte and Robert (Nancy) Lang of Forney, TX; a daughter, Connie (Bob) Mehlhaff of Sioux Falls; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Binder of Yankton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; 2 sisters, Viola and Gloria; and 2 brothers, Marlin and Louis.
