Obituary of Martha Will
Wagner – Martha Will, 92, went to her heavenly home Sunday, January 6 at the Wagner Good Samaritan Center. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 10 at 1:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Delmont. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Pakston.
Martha was born September 3, 1927 to Adam and Mrytle (Schoeder) Fink. Martha and her twin sister, Margaret, were baptized on September 6, 1927. They were confirmed into the Christian faith in the rural Emmanuel Lutheran Church near Delmont, SD. She was united in marriage to Oscar Will on February 6, 1949. They lived on a farm southwest of Delmont until Oscar's death in 2000. Martha worked at the Armour Nursing home for 18 years. After retiring, Martha and Oscar were janitors at Hope Lutheran Church and at Delmont Public School. They took great pride in these positions and especially loved the students and attending the school concerts. Martha was a wonderful baker and cook. She loved sharing goodies with family and friends. She also had a green thumb and enjoyed her garden and flowers. She canned, froze, and pickled produce from her large vegetable garden for many years. She was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Martha's family was very important to her. She loved being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Clark (Sonia) Will of Parkston, SD; Kristie (Kevin) Harrington of Burlington, NC; Steven (Kim) Will of Minneapolis, MN; and Michael (Barb) Will of Delmont; 7 grandchildren: Angie (Travis) Stiens, Dustin (Jen) Will, Eric Harrington, Joe Harrington, Annie Will, Wesley Will and April Will; 5 great-grandchildren: Gavin and Sophia Stiens and Miles, Grayson and Elise Will; a brother, Milton (Maxine) Fink of Nevada; a sister, Marlene Menuey of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her birth mother and later her father and his second wife, Anna Brost Fink; husband, Oscar; twin sister, Margaret Beehler; another sister, Helen Herrboldt; and 3 brothers-in-law, Donald Beehler, Robert Herrboldt and Rex Menuey.
