Alida Georgia "Lidie" Hinckley was born on April 3, 1923 to George and Amanda (Storm) Reinfeld on the family farm north west of Delmont, SD. She was the oldest of 4 children. Alida was close to her siblings (Melba, Evelyn, & Lloyd), but outlived them all, which she struggled with at times.

Alida went to country school and graduated from Delmont High School.

Alida's first date was with Wayne Hinckley when she was 14 years old. They met through her cousins, Gale & Glen Schroeder while visiting family one summer evening. After dating on & off for a few years, she said, "He gave me my first boyfriend kiss. One I will never forget."

On December 11, 1942 Wayne and Alida were married at the parsonage in Delmont, SD. The couple lived on the Hinckley family farm near Armour, where they were blessed with and raised 13 children. A large family meant many meals. Alida opened her door to anyone who stopped to visit. She was known for having enough food to feed an extra guest or two at the table. The coffee was always on along with fresh baked goods to share.

Alida loved her Lord & Savior. It was important to her that her family attended church every Sunday. Some of Alida's other favorites were reading, flowers, long walks, her family and coffee.

Alida passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Armour Care & Rehabilitation Center in Armour at the age of 96 surrounded by her family.

Alida is survived by her children, Donna (Arlen) Clercx, Jerry Hinckley, Wanda (Leo) Wulf, Linda (Robert) Wulf, Carla (George) Skinner, Ronny (Deb) Hinckley, Paula (Larry) Schnabel, Debra (Gerald) Teunissen, Randy (Julie) Hinckley, Terry (Arlene) Hinckley, Muray (Tami) Hinckley, and Tracy (Cindy Plamp) Hinckley, 32 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, son, Kerry Alan, grandson, Wade Wulf, great-granddaughter, Braelynn Erlandson, and siblings, Melba Buchnann, Evelyn Davis and Lloyd Reinfeld.
