Obituary of Geneva Marie Haar

Lake Andes – Geneva M. Haar, 94, went to her heavenly home Sunday, June 23 at the Lake Andes Healthcare Center. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 27 at 10:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Lake Andes. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26 from 5 to 7 pm at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes.

Geneva Marie Haar was born June 21, 1925, the 2nd child, to Walter and Alma (Flishran) Exon in Lake Andes, SD. At a young age, she obtained her teaching certificate and taught in country school near Lake Andes. She later worked as a secretary for REA. She was an active member of First Luthean Church in Lake Andes and enjoyed traveling, reading, playing the piano and visiting with her many friends and relatives.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children: Barbara Ann thaler of Omaha, NE; Paul Richard Haar of Sioux Falls, SD; and Joel Robert Haar and wife, Jean of Mankato, MN; a brother, Robert Exon and wife, Omalee of Topeka, KS; 7 grandchildre; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Curt Chandler; second husband, Charles Haar; a daughter, Carol Marie Florey; and a brother, Delmer.
