Obituary of Harold L. Buck

   Armour - Harold L. Buck, 90, died at his home in Armour, SD on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Grandview Reformed Church in Armour with burial following in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2019 from 5 - 7 PM at Grandview Reformed Church in Armour with prayer service at 7:00 PM.

   Harold L. Buck was born on August 19, 1929 and raised on the family farm near Platte, SD. The family moved to Armour, SD in 1943 where he attended High School. He was in the U.S. Navy from June 23, 1948 to June 3, 1952. He married Laura Wulf on June 9, 1952. They were married for 60 years before Laura was called to her heavenly home. Harold worked various jobs in Armour. He was a Relief Manager at Winner, SD and Terry, MT and was a General Manager at Carson, IA for the Fullerton Lumber Company. He was a member of the Armour Fire Department and then became Chief of Police for 14 years and was also sworen in as Deputy Sheriff for Douglas County. After retiring from law enforcement he worked for Armour Coop until he retired in 1991. He went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at his home in Armour at the age of 90.

   Having shared his life are his 4 children: Harold (Debra) Buck, Jr. of Hillsboro, OR; Daniel Buck of Armour, SD; Linda (Gary) Laib of Armour, SD; and Rose Alexander of Tierra Amarilla, NM; grandchildren and their families; Dennis (Barb) Laib and their children, Delaney and Noah Laib and Kylen Larson; Travis Buck and special friend, Abigail Spyker and their children Owen Spyker and Elsie Buck; Danielle (Cory) and their children, Jaydon and Alexys Barth; Trevor (Melynda) and their children, Troy, Jennaveve and Gracilynn Buck; and Chris Alexander and his daughter, Allie Faith Alexander; 2 brothers: Clarence (Geraldine) Buck and Leonard Buck; sister: Edith (Jim) Atkins; and 4 sisters-in-law: Micky Darrough; Irene Frauenfelder; Beatrus Wulf; and Agnes Wulf; and numerous nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by family and friends that went before him.
