Obituary of Lila Lou Wuertzer

Parkston – Lila Lou Wuertzer, 64, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, November 26 at Avera Bormann Manor. Memorial service will be Tuesday, December 3 at 10:30 am at Parkston Congregational Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Monday, December 2 from 6 to 7 pm at Parkston Congregational Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Lila was born October 4, 1955 to Elroy and Ruth (Bitterman) Lippert in Parkston, SD. She attended country schools near Armour, SD and Delmont, SD until her family moved to Tripp, SD where she attended Tripp High School and graduated in 1973. She was united in marriage to Dale Wuertzer on April 10, 1982 at Memorial Baptist Church in Parkston. The couple made their home and raised their daughter, Shelly, on the farm near Parkston. Lila worked for over 20 years at Ravens in Parkston as a quality control inspector. She later worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Tripp and Cabelas and Walmart in Mitchell, SD. She was a member of the Parkston Congregational Church and enjoyed sewing but truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Lyrik.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Shelly (Derek Tierney) of Mitchell; parents, Elroy and Ruth Lippert of Parkston; a grandson, Lyrik Strand of Mitchell; and 3 brothers: Leon (Norma) Lippert of Parkston; Lorin (Debbie) Lippert of Rapid City, SD; and Lowell Lippert of Sturgis, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale and her in-laws, Donald and Delores Wuertzer.
