Parkston – Anita Wilhelmina Wegehaupt, 95, went to her heavenly home Monday, December 2 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 7 at 10:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock. Visitation will be Friday, December 6 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Anita Wilhelmina Wegehaupt was born June 26, 1924 to William and Amelia (Moege) Reimnitz at their home near Mt Vernon, SD. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock, SD by Rev. Paul Hempel. She grew up on the farm in Davison County and graduated from Tobin No. #11 country school. She was united in marriage to Robert F. Wegehaupt on January 27, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Together they farmed near Dimock until 1995 when they retired and moved into Parkston, SD. Anita was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hand stitching, sewing and mending. She will be fondly remembered for her flowers, gardening and caring for the elderly. She was a wonderful baker who was especially known decorating cakes and her kuchen and cakes. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the LWML, held various LWML offices, sewed quilts for Missions, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Anita went to her heavenly home Monday, December 2, 2019 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston at the age of 95.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 daughters: Gloria Storm of Sioux Falls, SD, Eunice Burgraff of Sioux Falls, and Mary (Paul) Ronken of Sioux Falls; 5 sons: Robert, Jr. (Flaviana) Wegehaupt of Placentia, CA, Steven (Audrey) Wegehaupt of Omaha, NE, Morris (Lori) Wegehaupt of Dimock, Daniel (Lori) Wegehaupt of Sioux Falls, and Thomas (Karlene) Wegehaupt of Dimock; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Struck of Sioux Falls; 2 sisters-in-law, Leona Reimnitz of Parkston and Helen Geidel of Parkston and a brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Margaret Geidel of Parkston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 3 sisters: Amanda Neugebauer, Ruth Wegehaupt, and Leona Stahl; 3 brothers: Walter Reimnitz, Ed Reimnitz, and Raymond Reimnitz; 4 brothers-in-law, Carl Struck, LeRoy Neugebauer, George Wegehaupt, and Ed Stahl; and 2 sisters-in-law, Violet Reimnitz and Bess Reimnitz.

Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hour or Good News.
