Obituary of Jim Meis

   Geddes - Jim Meis, 62, accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and died on February 12, 2020 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes with burial following in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Vistiation will be Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 5 - 7 PM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

   Jim Meis was born on September 29, 1957 to Harold "Lefty" and Luverne (Gleich) Meis in Wagner, SD. During his life, he was a carpenter, bar owner and, most recently, a mail carrier, which allowed him to meet many new friends. Jim loved many things in his life, including his family, friends and golf. He loved baseball and played for many years. Jim was always there for his family to help out any way possible. He had a funny way of showing his love for his family, but they all know it was just Jim. His nieces and nephews had a special place in his heart. Jim accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and died on February 12, 2020 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 62.

   Grateful for sharing his life are his 4 siblings: Susan (Rick) Dufek of Huron, SD; Janis (Pat) Westendorf; Carol (Dennis) Oberbroekling; and Mark (Laurie) Meis all of Geddes, SD; 12 nieces and nephews; 27 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
