Obituary of Diana Lynn Werkmeister

   Armour - Diana Lynn Werkmeister, 61, passed away at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston, SD on Monday, March 2, 2020. Funeral service will be Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour with burial following in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Vistitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 5 - 7 PM at at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour with a wake service at 7:00 PM.

   Diana Lynn Werkmeister was born on August 2, 1958 to George Donald and Lorraine Francis (Pravecek) Thaler on an Army Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. She graduated from Aquinas High School in Augusta, GA. On June 4, 1977, she married the love of her life and soul mate, L. Dean Werkmeister in Tyndall, SD. There were four children born to this marriage, Jessica Lee, Adam William, Rebecca Ann and Sara Gene, all of whom Diana loved with all her heart and have been her greatest joy. Five grandchildren were born later, Christian Dean, who is a fine young man, Alexis Marie, who can argue with anyone, Katelyn Lee, who shall forever by Diana's baby, Michael Reed, who shall be the farmer, and Ava Serene, who is a little spitfire. Diana was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, canning, baking and gardening. Her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She passed away at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 61.

   Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Dean, children, Jessica Lee and special friend, Kevin Orgen, Adam William, Rebecca Ann and her children, Chris, Allie, Katie and Michael, Sara Gene and husband, Trey Shadwick and child, Ava, sister, Debra Ann and husband, Frank DeRoller, nephew, Shaun and Angela Young and their son, Michael, cousin, Virgil and wife, Connie Pravecek, sisters-in-law, Lorna and Lyle DeHaai and Brenda and Marvin Reinfeid, brothers-in-law, Rodney and Charlene Werkmeister, Rick and Lori Werkmeister, Dan Werkmeister, Alvin Werkmeister, Steven Werkmeister, and in-laws, Leonard and Sylvia Werkmeister, and many other relatives and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine Francis Pravecek (June 4, 2018) and George Donald Thaler (April 2, 2019).
