Obituary of Clinton R. Juhnke

Clinton R. Juhnke was born December 13, 1931 to Theodore and Seline (Tiede) Juhnke in Emery, SD.  He attended country school through the 8th grade and Bridgewater High School in Bridgewater, SD.  He helped his parents on the farm until enlisting in the United States Army and serving in the Korean War.  He was united in marriage to Nadine Bezug on March 1, 1958 in Menno, SD.  The couple made their home on a farm near Parkston.  Clinton farmed until 1982 when he and Nadine moved into Parkston and purchased Nu-Way Cleaners.  Together, they owned and operated Nu-Way Cleaners until their retirement.  Clinton was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Parkston and sang in the church choir.  He was also a member of the American Legion and Parkston Commercial Club.  He enjoyed hunting and attending sporting events, especially football and wrestling.  Clinton went to his heavenly home Friday, May 5, 2017 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston at the age of 85.
     Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Nadine of Parkston; 5 children:  Todd (MayDene) Juhnke of Lincoln, NE; Karlette Juhnke of Webster, SD; Jim (Carol) Juhnke of Brookings, SD; Leslie Pratt of Beale Air Force Base, CA; and Scott (Mandi) Juhnke of Harrisburg, SD; 11 grandchildren:  Evan Juhnke, Paige Juhnke, Sami Juhnke, Nicole
Juhnke, Laura Juhnke, Jordan Juhnke, J'Dyn Pratt, Neal Juhnke, Alexandra Juhnke, Easton Juhnke and Kendall Juhnke; and a sister, Marjene (Jim) Apland of Bel Air, MD.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Darlene; and a brother, Kenneth.
