   Armour - Ardelle Leola Clements, 96, died at Armour Care and Rehabilitation Center in Armour on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the United Church of Christ in Armour with burial following in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 PM.

   Ardelle Leola Meyer Clements was born 28 Feb 1921 to Ed and Bertha (Kindt) Meyer on a farm 7 miles south of Armour. She attended country school through 8th grade. She graduated from Ravinia High School in 1938. She then attended Southern Normal in Springfield, SD earning her teaching certificate. She married Donald B. Clements on 15 January 1941 at the same farm where she was born. She taught country school while Don was in the South Pacific during WWII. When he was stateside they lived in Brooklyn, NY; Flint, MI and New Orleans, LA. After Don was discharged, they moved back to Armour and spent the rest of their lives there. They purchased the wallpaper and paint store and funeral home from Don’s parents a few years after their return to Armour.

   She and Don worked together in both businesses. Ardelle was very proud of the fact that she passed the state board test and became a licensed funeral director in 1959. They sold the store in 1962 and the funeral home in 1971. They then traveled in their Airstream for many years enjoying every minute of their many journeys. Ardelle was a member of the United Church of Christ where she was involved in Women’s Fellowship and taught Sunday School through the years. She was a 50-year plus member of Eastern Star and VFW Auxiliary, holding leadership positions in both organizations. She was the last surviving member of the Cheerio Club. Ardelle also enjoyed
bowling and golfing.

   She is survived by her daughter, Sharon and husband Carter Wiese, Armour, SD; son, Dee and Julia Clements, Loveland, CO; grandsons Collier Wiese and wife, Dawn; Randall Wiese and Brian Clements and wife, Theresa; great-grand-grandchildren Christopher Hatfield, Alexander Wiese, Emma, Aidan and Kimbella Clements. Sister, Virginia Harms; sister-in-law, Ida Clements, 4 nephews, 3 nieces, 3 cousins and special friend, Linda Johannsen.

   Ardelle was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Ed and Bertha Meyer and 2 brothers, Theodore and Wilbur Meyer. Ardelle completely enjoyed life, her family and her friends. She always had a ready smile and a good word.
