Obituary of Minnie Jean VanDerWerff

   Armour - Minnie Jean VanDerWerff, 77, went to her heavenly home at Good Samaritan Society in Corsica on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Funeral service will be Monday, October 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Grandview Reformed Church in Armour with visitation an hour prior to the funeral. Committal service will follow the funeral service at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour.

   Minnie Jean VanDerWerff went to her heavenly home on October 7, 2021. Jean was born on October 20, 1943 to Berend Dinardus (B.D.) and Marie (Ymker) Schelling. Jean was baptized into the christian faith. Jean was the youngest of 4 brothers and 3 sisters. On January 25, 1963, Jean married Ivan VanDerWerff. Five children were blessed to this union. Jean enjoyed listening to hymns, baking, visiting with people and time spent with family.  

   Jean is survived by her husband, Ivan VanDerWerff; her children, Roland (Lynnette) VanDerWerff of Hartford, SD; Carla (Ron) Jelsma of Armour, SD; Connie (Tad) Kaufman of Delmont, SD; Amy (Scott) Ratermann of Yankton, SD and Angela (Shane) Snyder of Huron, SD; along with 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Survivors also include one brother Cornie Schelling and sisters Betty Powell and Marlene Zomer. 

   Jean was preceded in death by her two grandsons, Dustin Jelsma and Matthew VanDerWerff, as well as her parents; three brothers John, Rochus, Lambert and sister Hattie Hubers.
