Platte - Evelyn E. Anderson, formerly of Armour, died at Platte Care Center on Monday, June 19, 2017. A memorial service will be Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church in Platte with committal service following in Platte Cemetery. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Evelyn E. Anderson was born on August 9, 1926 on the family farm near Academy, SD to Fred and Clara (Leiferman) Lucas. She attended country school near Academy and later graduated from Platte High School in 1944. She married Wayne Anderson on September 12, 1944 in Platte. They lived in Platte for a short time before moving to Armour, SD. Evelyn worked at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour as a receptionist. After retiring, she remained in Armour. Wayne died on March 17, 2011. Evelyn was a devoted member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour. She was an avoid Minnesota Twins fan. She moved to Platte Care Center in 2012 where she died on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the age of 90.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Lauren (Norma) Lucas of Platte, SD and Leo (Janette) Lucas of Green Valley, AZ, brother-in-law, Robert (Coraleen) Anderson of Sioux City, IA, 2 sisters-in-law, Delores (Dale) Palmer of Delta, UT and Carolyn Anderson of SIoux Falls, SD, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne, and 7 brothers and sisters, Harold, Leonard, Iola, Irene, Wilma, Florence, and Everett.
