   Armour - Edna M. Olawsky, 81, died at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Funeral service will be Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour with burial following in Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 5 - 8 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

   Edna M. Olawsky was born on September 29, 1935 to Otto and Lydia (Schulz) Sperlich in Douglas County, SD. She attended country school in Lincoln Township and high school in Parkston. On August 30, 1959 she married Ray Olawsky at Immanual Lutheran Church, rural Dimock, SD. Together they raised their family and farmed in Douglas County for 25 years. Edna worked at a Café in Corsica and at the Corsica nursing home as a cook and in laundry and housekeeping. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking pies and homemade bread, cooking, gardening, eating out , spending time with her family and planning family events. Edna also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was a Junior Lutherans Leader at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Dimock. Edna died on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour at the age of 81. 

   Thankful for sharing her life is her husband, Ray of Armour, SD, 5 daughters, Phyllis (Scott) Ehler of Parkston, SD, Judy (Alan) Scholten of Armour, SD, Cindy (Larry) Van Otterloo of Prinsburg, MN, Sandra (Donald) Baier of Armour, SD, and Kathy (Jim) Holter of Platte, SD, 13 grandchildren, Sean (Miranda) Ehler of Sioux Falls, SD, Aaron Ehler of Parkston, SD, Alissa (Ted) Tornow and their children, Autumn and Alanna of Armour, SD, Kayla (Ryan) Warnke of Algona, IA, Haley Scholten and special friend, Taylor Jennings of Mitchell, SD, Jacob (Jenni) Van Otterloo and their son, Caleb of Sanborn, IA, Jodi (Aaron) Wubben of Willmar, MN, Andrew (Meagan) Baier of Armour, SD, Jesse Baier of Parkston, SD, Danny Baier of Armour, SD, Logan Holter of Dakota Dunes, SD, Sidney Holter of Dakota Dunes, SD, and sister, Elaine Moke of Parkston, SD.

   She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Drew Holter.
