Lake Andes - Arlene Doris Huber, 85, died at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Andes with burial following in Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes. Visitation will be Monday, April 3, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Arlene Doris Huber was born to Christian and Olga Kracht on July 27,1931 near Burke, SD. Arlene graduated from Burke High School in 1949. After high school, Arlene married Ruben Huber, and they lived in Bonesteel, SD and later moved to Lake Andes where together they raised five children. She worked as the Deputy Clerk of Courts for Charles Mix County. Arlene was active in the Charles Mix County Democratic Party, was a member of Eastern Star, and was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Andes. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, and she especially enjoyed her time quilting and going to concerts with her many friends. She died at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the age of 85. Grateful for sharing her life are her children: Scott (Mary Dold, special friend) Huber, Sandra (Huber) Henry and husband, Tom of Sioux Falls, SD, Jerry Huber of Sioux Falls, SD, Cindy (Huber) Reynders and Mark Huber of Laramie, WY. Grandchildren: Tyler Leonard of Minneapolis, MN, Brooke (Leonard) Moeckly and husband, Steve, and Michael (Sydney) Leonard of Sioux Falls, SD, Erin (Andy) Kreeger of Washington, DC, Lauren Reynders of Rock Springs, WY, and Brittany Henry of Brookings, SD. Great-grandchildren: Raena Brendtro, Grace Leonard, Blake Moeckly, Jack Moeckly, and Lewis Leonard of Sioux Falls, SD. Brothers: Lawrence Kracht of Deadwood, SD and Don (Glenda) Kracht of Junction City, KS, and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ruben Huber on December 20, 1993, her brother Elmer Kracht, nephews James Kracht and Larry Kracht, and her sisters-in-law, Darlene Kracht and Belva Kracht.
