Parkston – Lyna Beryl Wittenhagen, 93, went to her heavenly home Thursday, May 25 at Avera Bormann Manor.  Funeral mass will be Tuesday, May 30 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston with visitation beginning a 9:30 am and burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Lyna Beryl was born on April 7, 1930 at Milltown, SD to Lena (Maeschen) and Henry Gregor.  She graduated from Parkston High School in 1948 as salutatorian of her class.  On February 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Wilford Boddicker.  In 1948, Lyna Beryl began working for a short time as secretary at Parkston High School, then at the Hutchinson County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Office in Parkston for approximately 19 years. She served in the capacity of Chief Clerk for several years and in 1961 she headed the new Feed Grain Program. She terminated her position there to farm with her son, Vincent, which she did for 18 years, retiring in 1991.  On May 27, 1982, she married Arnold Wittenhagen of Mitchell. In March, 1996 she and her husband Arnie moved into Parkston. Arnie passed away on March 3, 2003.  Lyna Beryl was a 50+ year member of the Parkston American Legion Auxiliary, having served 3 times as President. She also was a member of Sacred Heart Altar Society and a 50+ year member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Beswick and her husband David of Lone Tree, Co, a son Vincent Boddicker and wife Brenda of Mitchell. 5 grandchildren, William Boddicker and wife Brandy of Parkston, Jason Boddicker, Sioux Falls, Chelsea Lambert and husband Kyle of Rapid City, Brooke Morehouse and husband Greg of Omaha, NE, Tyler Pattishall of Littleton, Colorado, 5 great grandchildren, 1 step daughter, Dovell McDole and her husband James, 2 step sons, Doug Wittenhagen and wife Susan and Steven Wittenhagen and wife Lindsey, Lincoln, NE, 9 step grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, her parents, 1 step son, 1 step grandson, 1 great granddaughter and 1 great grandson.
