Parkston – Joyce Erpenbach Leischner, 94, went to her heavenly home Saturday, June 17 at Avera Bormann Manor. Funeral mass will be Saturday, June 24 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston with burial to follow in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Dimock.  Visitation will be Friday, June 23 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.

Joyce was born December 17, 1928 to Peter and Mary (Hohn) Bauhs in Faulkton, SD.  She graduated from Ethan High School where she met Wayne Erpenbach.  They were united in marriage on October 3, 1949 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock.  They farmed east of Dimock until Wayne's death in 1993.  Joyce married John Leischner in 2006.  John and his late wife, Betty, were best friends with Wayne and Joyce.  Joyce and John continued that great friendship until John passed away in 2012.  Joyce loved and enjoyed her life.  She was active in the ALS support group, was a hospice volunteer and volunteered at Avera Bormann Manor.  She was awarded the volunteer of the year at Bormann Manor in 2014.  Joyce was a fan of everything Dimock and Parkston had to offer.  She loved her many friends and considered each to be a blessing. 

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Rene (Jeff) Mohrhauser of Sioux City, IA; granddaughter, Katie (Sean McArdle) Mohrhauser of Brooklyn, NY; great-grandson, Connor; grandson, Sam Mohrhauser of New Orleans, LA; step-son, Terry (Kris) Leischner of Parkston and their children, Mike Leischner, Jenaya (Matt) Brengle, and Darcy (Bill) Muller; step-daughter, JoAnn (Tim) Snyder of Parkston and their children, Scott (Julie) Snyder, Renee (John) Courter, Teri (Matt) Markve, James (Desiree) Snyder, and Amy (Ryan) Berry; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; son, Ronnie, husband, John; and siblings Marguarite (DeLoss) Livesay, Duane (Shirley) Bauhs, Rhodell Bauhs, Verdell (Marina) Bauhs, and JoAnn (Charles) Ray.

Memorials can be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston; Avera Hospice in Mitchell; or the ALS Support Club.
