Parkston – James Charles Heck, 77, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, June 21 at him home in Parkston.  Funeral mass will be Monday, June 26 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 25 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Jim was born March 25, 1946 to John and Mildred (Weber) Heck in Parkston, SD.  He attended Sacred Heart Parochial School through the 8th grade and graduated from Parkston High School.  He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Loes on June 2, 1970 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD.  Jim was a lifelong farmer and served his country in Army National Guard.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an Eucharistic Minister.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Jaycees, the Farm Bureau Board and the Adult Farm Management Board.  He enjoyed camping with his family, spending time with his grandchildren, and riding his motorcycle.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Jo Ann of Parkston; 3 children:  Anthony Heck of Parkston, Julie (Michael) Wingen of Canova, SD and Sarah (Mark) Gould of Sioux Falls, SD; 5 grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, Adisyn, Ledger and Bria; and 11 siblings:  Lawrence Heck, Baltimore, MD, Kathleen DeNucci of Cumberland, WI, Fr. Tom Heck of Cape Coral, FL, Joseph (Beverly) Heck of Dallas, SD, Dr. Louis (Susanne) Heck of St. Cloud, MN, Therese (Edward) Cacek of Rice, MN, Gerard Heck of Sioux Falls, Mary (Gary) Crosby of Ft. Dodge IA, David (Renee) Heck of Sioux Falls, Angela (Craig) Herrboldt, Sioux Falls, and Leonard (Lisa) Heck of Apple Valley, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers-in-law, William DeNucci and Keith Loes.

Memorials would be preferred in lieu of flowers.
