Amrour - R. Charles "Chuck" Mimmack, 80, died at Prairie View Healthcare Community in Woonsocket, SD on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Funeral service will be Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour with burial following in Pleaseant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 5 - 7 PM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour with a wake service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Charles Mimmack was born on September 29, 1937 in Oswego, NY to Rollo Mimmack and Eva Mae Brown. He attended Oswego High School in Oswego, NY. He spent the last 32 years of his career as the maintenance supervisor at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Armour, SD.
Chuck married Antoinette Ey in 1957 in Oswego, NY and 4 children were born to this union.  Charles Mimmack married Mary Freidel on June 2, 1979.  Chuck was very passionate about helping others and volunteered in the community of Armour in a variety of ways.  He sold tickets and cleaned the local theater, assisted with meals on wheels, cleaned and volunteered at the catholic church and a was a regular at the Senior Citizens Center.  Chuck loved to golf and enjoyed teaching others how to play the game.  He enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together with the love of his life, Mary.  He was passionate about spending time with family and was a staple in the stands and sidelines at all sporting events, concerts and recitals.

Chuck entered the U.S. Army in January of 1962.  His service was cut short due to a severe auto accident in Germany in which he suffered a ruptured aorta.  After the diagnosis of the almost always fatal rupture, a life-saving operation was performed immediately.  Chuck received an Honorable Retirement Permanent Disability effective August 1963.
Chuck died at Prairie View Community Center in Woonsocket, SD on October 24, 2017 at the age of 80.

He is survived by his children; John (Laurie) Mimmack of Sioux Falls; Lisa Mimmack of Sioux Falls; Daniel (Connie) Mimmack of Dundalk, MD; Debbie Mimmack Gee of Dundalk MD; Dawn Freidel of Corsica; Doug (Nancy) Freidel of Corsica; Cindy (Dave) Balt of Sioux Falls; Brad (Dee) Freidel of Moberly, MO; Dan (Brenda) Freidel of  New London/Spicer, MN; Bill (Tracy) Freidel of Rapid City; Pat Freidel of Mitchell; Rita (Jamie) Rexwinkel of Corsica; daughter-in-law, Joni Freidel of Vermillion; 39 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley (Carl) Cordavano of Greensboro, NC and sister-in-law Patricia Edwins of Omaha, NE.  

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Mary Mimmack; son Michael Freidel; grandson Derrick; brothers James R Brown and George H. Mimmack; and sister Florence Swan.

Memorial may be sent to Dakota Trails Gold Course, Lorraine Theater, or John Mimmack, 6005 W. 43rd St., Sioux Falls, SD 57106.
