Sioux Falls – Karen Dee McFarland, 85, went to her heavenly home Sunday, December 31 at Ava’s House.  Funeral service will be Friday, January 5 at 11:00 am at Armour Community Church in Armour.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 4 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Armour Community Church in Armour.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Karen was born January 26, 1938 to Don and Hattie (Whittemore) Weber.  She attended and graduated from Delmont High School.  She was united in marriage to Gerald McFarland on March 22, 1957.  They lived and farmed near Armour.  Karen worked at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour for 32 years.  She was a member of Armour Congregational Church and enjoyed spending time at the river, pontoon rides, bon fires and attending her grandchildren’s activities. 

Grateful for having shared her life are her 2 children:  Delon (Rhonda) McFarland of Pukwana, SD and Danette (Dave) Wright of Armour; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; 2 brothers-in-law, Lowell and Don McFarland; and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Bowen.
