Obituary of David Andera

Mitchell – David M. Andera, 70, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, October 25 at Firesteel Healthcare Center.  Funeral mass will be Saturday, October 28 at 10:30 am with visitation beginning at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stickney.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Stickney.

David was born January 1, 1947 to Edward and Rosalia (Kaus) Andera in Mitchell, SD.  He grew up in Stickney, SD and attended Stickney High School.  He moved to Pleasanton, CA where he attended Job Corps.  After a few years, he moved back to Stickney where he did various odd jobs, especially enjoying working for the local farmers.  David moved to Mitchell, SD and worked at the Town House Café.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing cards, especially a friendly game of Pinochle. 

Grateful for having shared his life are his 2 children:  Tami Andera and special friend, Larry Nelson of Syracuse, NE and Henry (Sonia) Cramer of Sioux Falls, SD; 6 brothers:  Bernard (Barbara) Andera of Parkston, SD; Edwin (Maddie) Andera of Stillwater, MN; Alvin (Diana) Andera of Sioux Falls; Ron Andera of Mitchell; Roger Andera of Sherman, SD; and Gail (Carol) Andera of Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 2 sisters-in-law, Kay Andera of Chamberlain, SD and Mary Andera of Port Orchard, WA; special friends, Pat and Abby Cassutt and family;  and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Leonard and Richard.
