Obituary of Bruce D. Schaefers

Tripp – Bruce D. Schaefers, 58, went to his heavenly home Monday, January 29 at his home in Tripp.  Funeral service will be Thursday, February 8 at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Parkston.

Bruce was born November 4, 1965 to Dale and Arliss (Weber) Schaefers in Parkston, SD.  He grew up on the farm and got farming in his blood at an early age.  He attended and graduated from Parkston High School.  After graduation, he began working on a road construction  crew.  His love of farming called him back to the farm to work with his parents.  Bruce would eventually work for a farm implement dealer putting machinery together and for a local carpenter.  He enjoyed hunting pheasant, fishing and attending the South Dakota State Fair with his children. 

Grateful for having shared his life are his 3 children:  Kyla Glatt of Sioux Falls, SD; Ryan (Paul Leynes) Schaefers of Santa Clara, CA; and Erica (boyfriend, Mackenzie Harvey) Schaefers of Sioux Falls; 3 grandchildren, Brielle, Carter and Maverick; a sister, Brenda Wagner of Bradenton, FL; and 3 brothers:  Dennis (Teri) Schaefers of Phoenix, AZ; Dean (Donna) Schaefers of Parkston; and Doug (June) Schaefers of Sioux Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Debra.
