Parkston – Alice Lorraine Baumiller, 87, went to her heavenly home Friday, March 31 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 5 at 10:30 am at Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston. Funeral arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Alice Lorraine Baumiller was born April 21, 1929 to William and Bertha (Mudder) DeVries in Highmore, SD. She was united in marriage to Raymond Baumiller on September 17, 1950 in Parkston, SD. The couple lived and farmed near Parkston until retiring in 1987. Alice worked outside the farm as a dietary aid at the supervised living center in Parkston. She also worked at Raven's Industries in Freeman, babysat for her grandchildren and finally cleaned rooms at the Rainbow Motel. Alice was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Salem Lutheran Church where she also belonged to the ladies aid. She enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, watching tv, working with flowers, sewing many outfits and patching many pair of jeans. Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children: Pam (Jim) Thuringer of Delmont, SD; Doug (Mary) Baumiller of Parkston and Joe (Donna) Baumiller of Parkston; 11 grandchildren: Stephanie (Jeff) Muilenberg, Jimmy (Brandi) Thuringer Jr., Michelle (Ryan) Konrad, Kari Baumiller, Corey (Jessica) Baumiller, Kim (Scott) Lippencott, Casey (Adrienne) Baumiller, Tanya (Jason) Pape, Jenny (Ryan) Leischner, Amanda (Matt) Horstman, and Brandi (Jeremy) Wermers; 24 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; and a sister, Bernice Semmler of Parkston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; a great-granddaughter, Swayzee Lynn; a brother, LaValle (Mary Lou) DeVries; and special aunt and uncle, Clifford and Grace Silvernail.
