Lake Andes – Carolyn Rae Giedd, 72, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, April 9 at Avera Wagner Community Hospital in Wagner.  Funeral service will be Saturday, April 13 at 10:30 am, visitation beginning at 10:00 am, at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes.

Carolyn was born on December 13, 1951, in Pickstown, SD. Carolyn was a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe where she enjoyed 26 years working at Ft Randall Casino gift shop. Her dedication to her career was evident to all who knew her. Carolyn's love for reading, movies, and the history channel was well-known among her family and friends. She cherished trips to Spearfish Canyon, where she enjoyed the beauty of nature and the peaceful scenery. Carolyn was also a devoted cat lover, finding joy and comfort in the companionship of her feline friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart, love for her family, and passion for life. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Giedd, daughter and son-in-law Glenda and Craig Nelson, granddaughters Zoe and Hannah Nelin, brother-in-law Roy Jr. and Lori Giedd, sister-in-law Albert and Sharon Giedd, aunt Barb Barbier and half-sister Sandra Luck. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Giedd, her mother and father, llene and Fred Banta, and mother and father-in-law, Elda and Roy Giedd.
