Janice Ilene Bruning, 81, went to her heavenly home Sunday, May 19 at Avera Bormann Manor.  Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 23, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour with burial following at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Funeral Mass.  

Janice was born in Armour to Carl Bruning and Madonna (Hollmann) Burning on April 15, 1943. She was baptized at St. George’s Catholic Church in Delmost and later confirmed to her faith in 1969 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Armour. Janice attended Armour Public Schools and worked at Smitty’s Café amd Town Café for many years. She also 

worked for Dr. Ronald and Thelma Price as a homemaker. She also did babysitting for her nieces and nephews and her “special” children Jason and Grant Lanning. Janice enjoyed attending church, reading and listening to music.  

She is survived by her siblings, Priscilla Hargens, Dr. Gary (Jodi) Bruning, her sister in law, Claudia Bruning and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and a brother, Don, sister, Ethel Frederick, and brother in law, James Frederick.
