Parkston – Mary Magdalen Schoenfelder, 94, went to her heavenly home Friday, May 31 at Avera Bormann Manor.  Funeral mass will be Thursday, June 6 at 10:30 am at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston .

Mary was born May 16, 1930 to Herb and Mary Catherine (Weber) Hohn in Dimock, SD.  She attended Ss. Peter and Paul Parochial School in Dimock and Tobin #16 near Ethan, SD.  She was united in marriage to Herbert Schoenfelder on November 3, 1948.  They made their home on a farm west of Ethan where they raised their 3 children, Ralph, Sharon and Carol.  She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Ethan American Legion Auxiliary and the Card Club.  She loved to travel and spent time in each of the 48 continental states.  She also enjoyed dancing, cooking and baking, gardening and planting flowers, and in her later years, traveling to the casino.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children:  Ralph (Joan) Schoenfelder of Sioux Falls, SD, Sharon (Reg) Rumbolz of Newcastle, WY, and Carol (James) Sundall of Kennebec, SD; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette (Jim) Ernster of Mitchell, SD; a brother-in-law, Ray Schoenfelder of Mitchell; a sister-in-law, Adeline Hohn of Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Herbert; 2 grandsons, Steven and Berry; and 2 brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Hohn.
