Obituary of Steve G. Winter

Lake Andes – Steve G. Winter, 71, went to his heavenly home Monday, November 4, 2024 at Lake Andes Healthcare Center.  Memorial service will be Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Steve was born June 5, 1953 to Morris and Doris (Zehnphennig) Winter in Minneapolis, MN.  He attended Andes Central High School in Lake Andes, SD and graduated in 1971.  He furthered his education by attending Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, SD where he graduated with a degree in English in 1984.  Steve was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Andes and enjoyed listening to Jazz music and playing the trumpet.  He also enjoyed watching football and basketball, jogging and playing solitaire.

Grateful for having shared his life are his sister, Sally Winter of Lake Andes and 5 nephews, Justus Winter, Aram Winckler, Jay (Mollie) Petrik, Grant (Amy) Petrik and Graham (Hannah) Petrik.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Doris Winter; grandparents, Carl and Maude Zehnphennig, and Gothielf and Louise Winter; and a niece, Alexa Winckler.
