Parkston – Shirley Ann Fuerst, 85, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 19 at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Armour Community Church in Armour.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Shirley was born March 18, 1939 to Emil and Elsie (DeWald) Weisser in Tripp, SD.  She attended country school through the 8th grade.  She was united in marriage to Virgil Fuerst on November 15, 1959 in Delmont, SD.  The couple farmed and raised livestock near Armour, SD.  In addition to helping on the farm, Shirley also worked for Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour.  She was a member of a member of Armour Community Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 2 sons: Mark Fuerst of Parker, SD and Michael Fuerst of Sioux Falls, SD; 2 sisters: Betty (Harvey) Wormsbecher of Tripp, and Diane (Marvin) Bauder of Sioux Falls, SD; and 2 sisters-in-law:  Judy Weisser of Armour and Lorna Weisser of Tripp.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; and 2 brothers, Darold and Dale Weisser.
