Corsica – Joyce L. Brink, 98, went to her heavenly home Friday, December 6, 2024 at Good Samaritan Center – Corsica.  Funeral service will be Thursday, December 12 at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Grace Reformed Church in Corsica.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Joyce was born October 14, 1926 on the family farm near Corsica, SD to Fred and Ann (Noteboom) Plooster.  She graduated from Corsica High School, attended Southern State Teacher’s College in Springfield, SD and Black Hills Teacher’s College in Spearfish, SD.  She was untied in marriage to Dale Brink in 1948 in Bell Flower, CA.  To this union, 2 children, Phyllis and Douglas, were born.  They were married for 7 years before Dale died suddenly after suffering a stroke.  Joyce enjoyed teaching school for ten years in rural country schools, schools in Bell Flower, CA and Gregory, SD, and Hew Holland Christian School and Corsica Christian School.  After Dale’s death, Joyce began working for the bank in Corsica as a teller.  She worked there for 25 years and retired as the Assistant Vice President of the bank.  She was an active, lifetime member of Grace Reformed Church in Corsica where she taught Sunday School, Catechism, Vacation Bible School, Bible Study and served in the Missionary Society.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her 2 children but her extended family as well.  She enjoyed family gatherings on Sundays, the many family trips, snowstorm oyster stew and pigs in a blanket feasts.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Phyllis (David) Green of Corsica; 3 grandchildren, Kathy Voss of Corsica; Randy (Abby) Voss of Sioux City, IA; Dale (Jess) Brink of Virginia Beach, VA; and 5 great-grandchildren, Gabrie, Savannah, Connor, Zander and Gavin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; a son, Douglas and 3 sisters, Florence (Ernest) Romkema, Bernice (Lloyd) Menning and Eunice (Delmar) Bormann.
