Obituary of Harold Wilson

Harold Wayne Wilson, 91, went to his heavenly home Friday, December 1 at Armour Health and Rehab in Armour.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 5 at 10:30 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour.  Visitation will be Monday, December 4 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Harold was born November 2, 1926 to Frank and Mary (Robinson) Wilson at Spencer, SD.  He attended Consolidated High School in Farmer, SD and graduated in 1945.  He was united in marriage to Murlene Hill on March 12, 1949 at Storla Lutheran Church in Storla, SD.  The couple moved to Mitchell, SD where Harold worked at a service station, Lakeside Dairy and Scott's Cleaners.  After a few years, they moved to Armour, SD where he owned and operated the Standard station and worked for the state highway department and Douglas County Memorial Hospital.  Harold was a member of the Armour Commercial Club, Jaycees, and Redeemer Lutheran Church where he held several offices.  He enjoyed woodworking and made several birdhouses, was meticulous with his cars, and was very proud of his yard and flowers.  
 
Grateful for having shared his life are his 3 children:  Colette (Terry) Hochhalter of Armour; Larry (Ronda) Wilson of Armour; and Donald (Jodi) Wilson of Gillette, WY; 5 grandchildren:  Amity (Joe) Fox of Plankinton, SD; Adam Hochhalter of Armour; Tyler (Whitney) Wilson of Armour; Alan (Lizbeth) Hochhalter of Sioux Falls, SD; and Jennifer (Nick) Hohensee of Lincoln, NE; 6 great-grandchildren:  Noah, Ella and Nora Fox; Marshall Wilson; and Rilynn and Madilynn Hohensee; a sister-in-law, Vera Hill-Zens of Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Murlene on November 30, 2006; in-laws, Barney and Hilda Hill; 3 sisters:  Gladys Anderson, Lucille Parry and Pearl Draper; 2 sisters-in-law, Earlyne Hill and Vina Hill; and 7 brothers-in-law:  Berdean Hill, Roger Hill, Glen Hill, Norris Hill, Wallace Anderson, Virgil Parry and Ray Draper.
