Obituary of Lloyd Dale Plooster

   Corsica - Lloyd Dale Plooster, 81, died at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour on Monday, December 11, 2017. Funeral service will be Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Harrison Community Church (North Church) in Harrison, SD. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 5 - 7 PM at Koehn Bros. Funeral Chapel in Corsica with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

   Lloyd Dale Plooster was born on October 13, 1936 in Douglas County, SD to Chris and Nellie (VanDenBerg) Plooster. He attended Grandview Country School near Corsica, SD. He moved to Grand Rapids, MI where he worked for Keeler Brass Company. He married Jacqueline Marlink on January 13, 1958 in Grand Rapids, MI. To this union, 6 sons were born. In 1958, Lloyd moved back to Corsica where he farmed the rest of his life. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1167 in Mitchell, SD. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, pinochle, pitch, and dancing. He died on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour at the age of 81.

   He is survived by his special friend, Dorothy Mettler of Corsica, SD, 6 sons, Duane Plooster of Mitchell, SD, Douglas (Julie) Plooster of Mitchell, SD, Dwight Plooster of Armour, SD, James Plooster of Wyoming, MI, John (Melanie) Plooster of Mitchell, SD, and Edwin (Angela) Plooster of Caney, KS, 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, great-grandson, Jackson, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
