   Armour - Linda D. Spease, 90, died at Armour Care and Rehabilitation Center in Armour on Monday, January 8, 2018. Funeral service will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont with burial following in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Delmont. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5 - 7 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

   Linda Dorothy Spease was born in Douglas County, SD on February 15, 1927, the oldest of 6 children, to Emmanuel and Emelia (Albrecht) Brenner. She grew up in the Delmont area and graduated from Delmont High School in 1944. She received a teaching degree from Southern State College in Springfield, SD in 1970 and her master of administration from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD in 1974. On June 6, 1948 she was united in marriage to Walter A. Spease. They were blessed with more than 65 years of marriage and 4 children. Linda held a number of teaching positions. In 1968, she began a position in the Armour School a taught 7 - 8 grade for 6 years. She continued as their Elementary Principal and teacher for 26 years and she "Claimed ownership of the elementary building and gymnasium. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont and was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Aide, Christian Society and choir. She spent many years baking and decorating cakes for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions. She died on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Armour Care and Rehabilitation Center in Armour at the age of 90.

   She is survived by 4 children: Virginia (Larry) Gunderson, Valrae (Timothy) Schwaderer of Delmont, SD, Van (Dorothy) Spease of Armour, SD, and Vincent (Amy) Spease of Rapid City, SD, 7 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Loretta Rittle and Verna (Wayne) Remme, and 2 brothers: Eltor (Marilyn) Brenner and Lloyd (Wyllo) Brenner.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter on December 22, 2013, parents, sister, Norma Krueger and husband, Oliver, and step-granddaughter, Lisa McNinch.
