Obituary of Annette Link

Annette Link, 101, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, February 20 at the Good Samaritan Center – Wagner. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 24 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont. Visitation will be Friday, February 23 from 6 to 8 pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont.

Annette, the 7th of 10 children, was born February 2, 1917 to Josef and Maria (Lutz) Ziebart on the family farm near Delmont. She was baptized into the Christian faith on May 4, 1917. She attended a rural elementary school north of Delmont where she graduated the 8th grade in 1930. She was united in marriage to Robert William Link on February 8, 1942. They made their home on a farm south of Delmont. Annette was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and LWML. She enjoyed an active life on the farm as she raised her 10 children. Her many interests included gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, entertaining, cooking, baking and traveling.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 10 children: Shirley (Gary) Mattis of Lee's Summit, MO; Dale (Jolene) Link of Delmont; Joyce (Sydney) Johnson of Milbank; David (Sandy) Link of Wagner; Doris (Peter) Smith of Atlanta, MI; Judith (Richard) Smith of Sioux Falls; Alice (Scott) Merry of Mason, IA; Darrell (Katherine) Link of Walsh, CO; Denise (Douglas) Edwards of Brandon; and Craig (Jackie) Link of Wagner; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Ziebart of Parkston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 4 sisters: Edwina Kauffman, Helma Schultz, Edna Jerke, and Lillian Rassmussen; 5 brothers: Theodore, Emil, Herbert, Walter and Milton Ziebart; and a grandchild, Baby Beth Johnson.
