Obituary of Anita Marie Wisner

Anita Wisner, 78, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 5 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral mass will be Thursday, March 8 at 2:00 pm at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock. Visitation will be Thursday, March 8 from 12 noon to 2pm with rosary at 1:15pm.  Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Anita was born in Parkston on February 27, 1940 to Joseph and Mary (Schmidt) Laber.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Parkston through 8th grade, and graduated from Parkston Public High School. Following high school she became a dental assistant and worked for Dr. Idema in Parkston for 10 years.  She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Wisner, the love of her life, on April 28, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston, SD. They were married for 58 years and farmed near Dimock for all that time.

Anita kept excellent records of their farm activities. She was an active member of the Ss Peter & Paul Altar Society and The Catholic Daughters of America. She and Jerry enjoyed watching the "Twins" and taking road trips where they frequently would visit friends and relatives along the way. Anita was a good dancer, a great cook and loved to play cards, which she often did as a volunteer at the nursing home in Parkston.

She and Jerry treasured all their nieces, nephews and special Godchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, Gerald "Bud" Laber and his wife, Alice of Aurora, CO; a sister-in-law, Marie Erpenbach of Ethan, and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents and in-laws; an infant brother; 2 sisters-in-law: Irene Untereiner and Dorothy Fleming; 4 brothers-in-law: Edwin, Urban, Francis and Joseph Jr..
