Paul is finally at peace, something we can all be thankful for, although it is still painful for many left behind.
I remember what great neighbors the Binders were when I was growing up. Our families spent a lot of time together. We visited each other a lot, and spent MANY Saturday nights after church in the back area of the Corner Cafe' in Parkston visiting, telling jokes, and laughing while having a burger or Orange Sherbet. Paul and dad worked together on occasion too. And I hauled a few bales for Paul while in high school.
I remember one night the Binders pulled up in front of our house in his black, about 1967, Chevy. Paul had hit, I think a steer, while driving to town. The one headlight was bent up at an extreme angle, but still working. Paul was laughing and asked dad if he wanted to go 'coon hunting beings he already had his headlight turned up!
The last time I saw Paul, he still had memories of his time in Korea, and having spent time there myself, we had a pretty good conversation.
Paul had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He was proud of his military service, he was a good farmer, he worked damn hard most of his life, and he was a good neighbor. He did alright. Godspeed, old friend

My most sincere condolences to the family and all those saddened by my Uncle Paul’s passing. I always thought of him as a gentle hearted sole who always seemed to be smiling. What a big beautiful smile he had. I hope you all can find some peace in knowing he is enjoying his well deserved spot in paradise. Thoughts and prayers going out to you all in these sad times.
